Looking ahead to a trip to Kidlington

Tuesday, 26 November 2019 18:10

UPCOMING MATCH PREVIEW

After the very impressive performance at the Premier Plus Stadium last Saturday which saw St Neots thrash their struggling visitors Wantage Town by five goals to nil, thanks in part to Alan Musoke’s first hat trick for the side, it is now a priority to maintain the confidence that the team displayed in that victory.   This weekend’s match sees a third trip this season to Oxfordshire to face Kidlington who are currently six points and three places ahead of the Saints in the league table.   That margin is because last Saturday Kidlington recorded only their second league victory in their last twelve league and cup outings.   They beat Coleshill 3-1 away from home to register their first away victory this season.   Despite their poor form, at home Kidlington boast a decent league record with only one defeat in six outings and that was to Daventry Town.

Kidlington are now in their third season at Step Four having finished 18th in the table three points above relegation last season but having finished 12th in their first season.   This will of course be the first meeting of the two sides and St Neots should be almost at full strength with Jonny Butler having served his one match suspension.
