It’s Thank You, Good Luck and Goodbye to Barry Corr and a BIG Saints welcome to Peter Gill, our new First Team Manager

This morning we would like to announce that BARRY CORR has accepted a position within the management team at newly promoted CAMBRIDGE UNITED and will therefore be relinquishing his position as First Team Manager with immediate effect.

We would like to congratulate Barry on being offered the position and at the same time, thank him for all his time and efforts in what was a very entertaining and successful spell in charge of the Saints with us sitting in second place in the Pitching In Southern Football League Division One Central table and reaching the Second Round Proper of the Buildbase FA Trophy where we succumbed to a 3-0 midweek defeat to eventual finalists Hereford FC,  before the season was sadly cut short due to COVID-19 and we wish him all the very best of luck is he progresses in his management career and he will always be a welcome guest here at The Premier Plus Stadium.

As Barry departs, we would like to announce that PETER GILL has been appointed as his replacement and will be assisted by SEAN GREYGOOSE.

Peter joins us from Cambridge United, where he holds the position of Head of Coaching and will combine this job with taking the reigns here at St Neots, just as Barry did before him. Starting out at Leyton Orient, Peter spent almost one year as Head Football Coach in their College Education Programme and progressed in the roles of Youth Development Phase Age Group and Lead Coach and Professional Development Phase Coach (Under 18 Coach). Next was a spell at Barnet FC and the role of Academy Manager and then onto Cambridge United in May 2020. Whilst at Barnet, Peter also spent time as First Team Coach at National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town, so he is no stranger to the world of non league football.

On his appointment, Peter had the following to say…

“I am delighted to be given the opportunity by Lee Kearns and the Board of Directors to manage this football club and I look forward to carrying on the great work done by Barry Corr over the last year or so. In recent seasons St. Neots Town have been very well known for their attacking style of play and that is something myself and the coaching staff wish to continue. It is a great time to take over what with the impending expected return of the Saints fans in pre-season and I look forward to meeting you all very soon”

So please join us in welcoming Peter to The Saints and we look forward to pushing on from where we left off last season.
