Talks are ongoing with other members of last season's squad and there will be news of these and of new signings in the coming weeks.

Exciting times ahead....

A quick update that the Trial Process for the SNTFC Mick George Academy 2018 will now be held at:

Longsands Academy |  Longsands Road
St. Neots | Cambs | PE19 1LQ

This change comes as work starts on the BRAND NEW Artificial Grass Pitch being built at the Football Club in the next few weeks. We would like to thank Longsands School for there support during this time as we increase our range of top class facilities.

Our new training surface will replace the existing 3G on the site next to the First Team Stadium. The previous surface is being removed to make way for the latest in state of the art grass technology and will provide the perfect home for the Mick George Academy next season.

With work starting earlier this week, the Trials have had to be held away from Rowley Park (St Neots Town FC) while construction is being completed but we are sure it will be worth the wait!

The new AGP (Artificial Grass Pitch) will be full 11 v 11 adult size with a viewing area for parents and relevant markings and appropriate goals for all our Academy Squads.
We believe this improvement will only consolidate our position as the outstanding club in Huntingdonshire and provide a excellent venue to host home fixtures for our impressive teams.

If selected as a player for one of our Academy squads next season, you will enjoy the luxury of an artificial pitch incorporating the latest hi-tech specifications for football and this enhancement will therefore see the introduction in a very strict code of conduct & set of user guidelines.
Litter, food or incorrect footwear (blades or metal studs) will not be permitted on the pitch under any circumstances - moulded studs or astro turf football boots must be worn at all times.

We are very excited and proud of the achievement that getting this addition to the facility represents - thank you to all those who have supported the club in order to make this dream a reality!

Huge congratulations go to our Academy Under 18 side who were crowned Thurlow Nunn Youth League Cambridge Division Champions last night.

Needing just a point from their final game to make sure of the league title, the young Saints headed to Haverhill Rovers and recorded a 3-0 win.

Goalscorers on the night were leading scorer Kieran Waites, Ben Southwood and Brandon Hedge.

Add this to Hunts FA County Youth Cup, won last friday with a 3-1 win over Godmanchester Rovers, It can be described as a very successful season for Alex Mynall, Richard Churms and everyone connected with the squad and indeed, the whole Mick George Youth Academy as a whole with a plethora of awards won this season throughout the age groups.

Well done lads, a credit to St Neots Town FC !!!

New Business Partnership Announced...

The Football Club is very excited to announce that we have signed a two year rolling contract with one of Britain’s leading energy suppliers, Utilita Energy.

Utilita – which has major partnerships with around 20 professional football clubs across Britain including Glasgow Rangers, Leeds United, Derby County, Norwich City, Crystal Palace and Southampton -  will not only look after the club’s energy accounts but will also have an active role in helping the club to generate funds for our Community Outreach programme and Gift of use initiatives. In addition to this new and exciting opportunity Utilita have also stepped in and funded the repairs for the club's heating system with an upfront sponsorship payment.

Gary Atyes -  Club Commercial Director

"Any new business Partner that comes on board is actively encouraged to contribute and help the club with continued Community engagement. It was very refreshing that Utilita were very like minded and had the experience of working with other businesses whose focus was very much Community orientated. The upfront sponsorship payment was something that was unexpected but gratefully accepted"

Jem Maidment - Utilita, Director of Marketing and Communications

“We have been really impressed with the set up at St Neots and the club’s long term vision. It is a community club with great ambition. We’re thrilled to sign this deal and, also, to repair the Heating system at the club.”

Utilita was formed in 2003 with sole aim of giving Britain’s hard pressed households a fairer, more transparent, energy deal. It was also the first supplier in the country to install a smart meter and has doubled its customer base in just two years. It currently has 650,000 domestic customers – and over 1.1million supply points – and is now a Top 10 energy supplier and one of the main challengers to the Big Six.

In 2017 it launched its Commercial Energy arm, giving Britain’s SMEs a fairer energy deal. It currently supplies energy for a number of football clubs including Aston Villa, Dundee United and Eastleigh.

HISTON U18      0           ST NEOTS TOWN U18       7

With just one match left later this week, away at Haverhill, St Neots now know that a single point will be sufficient to see them retain the championship of the Cambridge Division of the Thurlow Nunn Youth League.   This penultimate league match was switched from Histon to the Premier Plus Stadium and was a very one-way contest with St Neots scoring seven goals without reply, with goalkeeper George Bugg a virtual spectator.

In the early stages St Neots seemed shot shy with an Alfie Donkin head over the bar and a Callan Irvine shot wide of the target their best efforts.   However, that changed after 13 minutes when Ben Southwood skilfully lost his marker to cross for Kieran Waites to open the scoring.   Two minutes later Aaron Hiscock was brought down by goalkeeper Daniel Wiseman as he raced from his goal and Hiscock got to his feet to tuck away the resultant penalty.   Southwood twice shot across the face of goal and Waites fired wide after a delightful move involving Donkin and Hiscock.   Then after 28 minutes Irvine threaded a through ball to find Ben Southwood to make it 3-0 and six minutes before the break the contest was effectively decided when Kieran Waites claimed hissecond goal of the match and his nineteenth of the season after clever play between Donkin and Southwood.

The second half was a more leisurely affair with St Neots no doubt having one eye on their important final match.   They sent on two substitutes and continued to dominate without showing the urgency they had displayed in the first 45 minutes.   It was now that Histon goalkeeper began to shine making three excellent saves to deny Leon Fulianty (twice) and Aaron Hiscock.    On the 75th minute another delightful three-man move ripped open the Histon defence as Hiscock and Waites set up Sam Routs for a tap-in fifth goal and then two further goals in the last five minutes from the lively Callan Irvine gave St Neots their 69th league goal of the season - 15 more than their nearest rivals and 12 more than they scored last season.   Histon’s sole effort to test the underworked St Neots custodian came from a lengthy Finlay Newey free kick that Bugg retrieved from just under his cross bar.

St Neots:  Bugg, Leagas Brooks, Donkin, Southeran, Fulianty, Southwood, Irvine, Waites, Routs, Hiscock

Subs used:   Dunnett and Ford

Referee: Nicholas Easey

The traditional end-of-season Awards Evening was held at St Neots Town last Saturday.   The evening began with a casino and cocktails in the Walker Sports Bar and this was followed by a dinner and disco attended by more than 100 players, officials, supporters and guests.   President John Walker described the season as ‘one of the most successful in the 129 years’ history of the Club’ coming just one week after the very successful celebrations of the Academy and Scholarship that had showcased a host of awards for both League and County successes.

Less than 24 hours earlier the U18 side had lifted the Hunts County Youth Cup to make it a senior County double following the Senior team’s 6-1 victory over town neighbours Eynesbury Rovers in the Hunts Senior Cup.   It was only the third time that this double had been recorded – and the U18 side could go on to make it a League and County Cup double.

However, the main focus was on the Senior squad that had achieved their second highest number of points in the Southern League era finishing in the top half of a very competitive table that had featured twelve teams that had been former members of Step Two in non-league.   He paid tribute to Manager Matt Clements, now the longest serving Manager of the club since its elevation to the Southern League, and his management team and the players who had achieved the success.

He previewed the upcoming 2018/19 season when St Neots would be competing in the newly created Southern League Central Premier Division that would mean a significant reduction in travelling following their six seasons in the Southern League, saying that the new season with six weeks pre-season preparation was now only seven weeks away!

The Reserve team playing at the highest level in the Club’s history had suffered a torrid season but that the experience gained by a youthful side would hold them in good stead in the next season.

He then introduced recently appointed Club Chairman Barry Cavilla whose playing record at the Club stretched from 1976 to 1988 with 236 appearances for the club during that period.   Barry thanked all the volunteers who were the lifeblood of the Club and predicted even better things going forward.

There was then the usual clutch of Awards presented by the Chairman, Barry Cavilla:

Those Awards were as follows:

U18 side

Players’ Player of the Year:                Leon Fulianty

Managers Player of the Year:             Archie Southeran

Leading goal scorer:                           Kieran Waites

Reserve side

Players’ Player of the Year:                Tom Mitchell

Managers Player of the Year:            Kevin Ashby

Leading goal scorer                            Joe Rider

Senior team

Supporters Player of the Year:           Luke Knight

Players’ Player of the Year:                Luke Knight

Managers Player of the Year:             Luke Knight

Leading goal scorer:                           Dylan Williams

The coveted Clubman of the Year Trophy was awarded to Andy Clay.

The recently introduced policy of honouring the Club’s Unsung Heroes, a group of unpaid but highly committed persons without which the club could not function, were also made.   These included Dianne Sales, Clare Meeks, Marian Izzard, Emily Dodson, Mike Green, Gary Wilson, Richard Pyke, Louise Sales, Paul Dodson, Dan Dodson, Gary Jackson, Kayleigh-Ann Burt and Mick Hunt.
