With the squad suffering with a number of injuries - Gillespie told to rest after concussion assessment, Bambridge knee and Osborne ankle, the inclusion of Jackson Clement-McNee & Daniel Buddle from the 1st team enabled Gearsy to pick a solid squad against Tring Corinthians which held Saints to a 3-3 draw away earlier in the season. With Bish sunning himself for the next 2 weeks, Gearsy shuffle the formation and the initial exchanges had Saints on top looking comfortable and in control. However it was on 10 minutes when the visitors took a surprise lead, from out of nowhere the Tring No.11 hit a shot from a full 50 yards that sailed over Jeckells, 0-1!! Saints responded well and pressed for the equaliser and on the 20 minute mark a positive drive forward and low shot from Buddle spilled from the keeper’s grasp and the resulting cross was met by Jake Smith to head passed the Tring keeper 1-1, no more than Saints deserved. Saints moved through the gears and pressed, but without making a breakthrough and both teams played their part in a good game. As the rain poured down half chances fell to Saints with no reward. With half time looming a freekick to Tring was awarded wide left of the Saints goal, the Tring No.11 delivers a decent cross which sails straight in the far top corner 1-2 Tring!!  All to do for saints in the second half.

Saints press from the start, clearly words were said at half time by Gearsy. A few early half chances created but the final piece of quality was missing. A great through ball from Brolia sent Smith one on one with the  keeper, surely 2-2... But Smith shot straight at the Tring ‘gloved stopper’. Saints need this goal and quick, the game starting to get sloppy with passes going astray. Subs for Saints… Brolia off for Sincock and a reshuffle moving Humphrey into midfield and Sincock up top. Saints trying to open up Tring defence with measured passing but Tring looked happy to sit on their lead and defend. Saints continue to probe at the Tring goal, resulting with the Tring No.9 fouling Humphrey with a nasty challenge, yellow card!  Humphrey’s recovery questioned therefore, the veteran Swain came on. A freekick comes to nothing, saints push on and on 72 minutes a Sincock through ball puts Josh Douglas-Smith free in the area and he smashes the ball passed the Tring goalkeeper, 2-2 with 15ish minutes plus injury time to go, can Saints push on for the winner?  Douglas-Smith is fouled and can’t continue so Walsh replaces him, saints keep pressing and the resulting pressure sees the ball rebound off the Tring defender into Walsh’s path and he finishes smartly passed the keeper 3-2 ….NO NO offside flagged, poor decision from the linesman - it stays 2-2, ‘but the goal should have been given’ without question. Saints keep pressing and with 5 minutes left the Tring defender handballs…. Penalty, Gearsy can’t watch but Aldo Walsh steps up and coolly finishes to make it 3-2. The game goes end to end in the final minutes and Saints hold on to take the 3 points - great team performance and had to dig in when needed!
